Event Challenges

12 hour Solo
Our most prestigious 12-hour solo category, not for the faint hearted. A feat typically accomplished by experienced or aspiring channel swimmers. Participants will need to demonstrate exceptional endurance, determination, and swimming skills to complete.

6 hour Solo
An individual swim that grants numerous swimmers an experience of the challenges involved in enduring a ultra long-distance swim. Participants should be ready to face the mental and physical challenges that come with such a feat.

4 hour Solo
An initial immersion into the realm of Ultra Swimming, serving as a foundational step in preparing participants to develop a strong stamina and tackle more ambitious undertakings.

2 hour Solo
This incredible format not only demands unwavering grit, endurance and speed, but it also stands as an awe-inspiring testament to the participants' swimming abilities.

D2D Lite - 1 hour Solo
Possibly the most popular, fun and enthusiastic category meant for beginners, giving participants who are new to swimming a chance to participate, swim with peers and build confidence for bigger feats.

8 hour Relay
A dynamic and exciting addition to the Dusk to Dawn event. This category is designed for teams of swimmers who want to experience the thrill of the 8-hour challenge together, combining their strengths and pushing their collective limits.

Rules & Regulations (for all categories)

A swimmer can only take part in multiple events as long as they don't overlap.

Swimmers will be swimming in a lane. Each lane will be divided into two, each swimmer has to stay on their side of the lane.

1 lap = 2 lengths of a 50m pool (100mts), out and back

Pulling on the lane rope is not allowed

Some part of the swimmer must touch the wall upon completion of each length of the pool and at the finish. Flip turns are allowed

In all categories, the merit place will be decided on the maximum distance covered by an individual.

Participants have to bring their own hydration & food required during the event. There will be usual snacks and water arranged at the venue but capacity and customization cannot be guaranteed.

The organizers will decide the allocation and sharing of lanes and no changes will be allowed.

Food / snacks will be arranged during the event.

In all the categories, the merit place will be decided on the maximum distance covered by an individual.

Throughout the event, all pool rules should be adhered to, and be alert to any instruction given by the lifeguards on duty.

We will have our own lap official who will be counting the laps, you may wear GPS based watch for tracking your swim distance however we will take the final count given by the lap official.

In case of a dispute, the organizer’s decision will be final. To raise a dispute, participants need to write an application and submit it to organizers within 30 minutes of the completion of the respective event. A dispute fee of INR 1000/- will be charged (non-refundable).

You need to bring: Swim caps / Swim goggles / towels / Nutrition / hydration / snacks. You can also bring your own yoga mats/sleeping bags for resting.

Lane discipline rules.

Stay in your half of the lane – Each lane will be divided into two halves but there will be no rope to demarcate the havles. Stick to your half of the lane to avoid any injuries.

Turning etiquette –Swimmers will have to stay in their allocated section of the lane to turn.

Rupali Repale is a renowned figure in the world of Open Water Swimming. As the youngest Asian to conquer the revered English Channel, a record unbroken for 30 years, her name resonates with excellence and perseverance. Today, she runs her coaching academy along with Aniruddha, where they have already nurtured several noteworthy swimmers. RRSA's vision extends beyond personal achievements; they are dedicated to fostering a new generation of channel swimmers from India.

Minesh & Mehul
The Mumbai Sea Swimmers (MSS) community, comprising swimmers of all levels and abilities, is dedicated to revolutionizing swimming in India by expanding its reach to a broader audience. MSS aims to transform swimming from merely a competitive sport to a leisure activity and a skill-building endeavor.
